Story
After last years Great North Run I decided I wanted to run it myself this year for a charity based right here in the North East. After securing my place in the ballot I contacted NETA and told them I would be running for them :-)
Running is not something I've ever done before (and previously avoided at all costs) so this is very new to me. Anyone that knows me will know how surprising it is that I am running (especially me!!) but I do love a challenge.
The North East Trust for Aphasia supports people with communication difficulties following a stroke or other brain injury. Communication is vital to our everyday lives and something that many of us take for granted. I have seen first hand the fantastic work that NETA do to support individuals with Aphasia and their families and I am proud to be raising money to help them continue this.
As well as doing the Great North Run I am also doing the Sunderland 10k (May 4th) and the Great North 10k (July 13th).
AND on 18th October I am doing a zip slide over the River Tyne (and currently ignoring my fear of heights) - I think I may have gone a little bit crazy but it's all for a good cause!
Any donation you can contribute to my fundraising is greatly appreciated, however small! I have a running blog if you are interested in reading about my progress http://jollyjuliesjogging.blogspot.co.uk
