Story
Hello My Friend and thank you for taking the time to visit my page.
I have a privilege of working with a tremendous team in the Arab world who developed a ground-breaking project, Life in the Desert, to help traumatised children in refugee camps and poor communities in the region to process their traumas, find comfort, healing and be equipped with life skills in the face of ongoing struggles. The programme consists of 3D beautiful, high quality animations and educational curriculum. Each episode has a Bible story weaved in the way that is accessible to children of all faiths.
Trauma takes different forms, and can have devastating consequences on our lives. Personally, I was bullied at school, rejected by friends, lost close friends and family members through fatal accidents, suicides, imprisonment, and terminal illnesses... It took me years to realise how I was impacted by some of these experiences, and I needed help to process them, so that I could find healing, peace and joy that I enjoy today.
This programme has already reached nearly 5,000 traumatised children but to make it available to more children, we NEED TO TRAIN further 113 NGO workers and school teachers how to use this fabulous tool. The plan is to go to Iraq, Syria, Sudan and hopefully Jordan in the next 12 months.
Therefore, on June 20th, World Refugee Day, I am going to do
113 sit ups, 113 push ups (from knee), a forearm plank (113 seconds) and prayers for 113 minutes.
As a team, we are aiming to raise £35,000, and inviting others to help us achieve that!
Your support is much appreciated!
