Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The Churches in Newtownards are working together to get practical support to those in most need in our town of Newtownards because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This page has been set up to facilitate those who wanted to help but are self isolating and cannot volunteer or buy food for the foodbank.

Donations will support such items as food, nappies and toiletries which run short, heat and electricity for those who have suddenly found themselves unemployed and ingredients for complete meals which are being prepared for the most vulnerable. The money will go directly to help those in need. It is not for the Churches or to pay staff - this initiative is run by volunteers.

Although the money is being raised for The Link Family and Community Centre, they are acting as a hub to get the funding to those who most need it on the ground.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

About the charity

The Link works with vulnerable and at risk individuals, many of whom experience deprivation, exclusion or loneliness. We provide a range of facilities, programmes and support for young people; older people; children and young parents; migrant workers; people experiencing chronic addiction to alcohol; and churches and community groups wishing to engage in community and good relations work. Our work is underpinned by community development principles and our mission is to seek to accept and value individuals as they are, enabling them to recognise their self worth and encouraging them to achieve their full potential.
