Inspired by Christian Nock who am delighted to announce will be joining us and who walked around Britain sleeping rough to bring awareness to the homeless in the UK and raised over £200.000 for 'Help for Heroes' will be joining us on 17th August when we sleep out for the homeless charity 'Crisis'
A few of us from 'The Lynch Mob Agency' are planning to take part in our own version of the recent sleep out for the homeless by sleeping out on the streets for Crisis the homeless charity. The last time John tried this was in research for his film "Homelessness' based on the film and Ken Loach classic 'Cathy Come Home' which on meeting the daughter of the original 'Crisis' founder he found out was the film that inspired her parents to form this much needed charity back in 1967. This time around Mark Preston, Dawn Lovegrove, Darren Luckin, Trisha Lawrence, Alan Chimes, Sophie Pulley and Farzana Jabeen will be sleeping rough on the streets to raise awareness and funding for some of the UK's most vulnerable people.
On John's last attempt he met a women who was brought to this country by human traffickers from Eastern Europe. She agreed after a conversation where he urged her to seek help to do so but was confronted by those same men before she could and later that night he and her was both attacked. John managed to fend off the attackers but because of her earlier experience at the hands of the men she felt she could no longer report them for fear of reprisals. She's in a secure and safe place now looking to the future, putting the past behind her but this is just one account of someone who should never have been living on our UK streets
We are not sleeping out for two reasons: We want to raise funds for our chosen charities while also hopping to raise awareness of the homeless and vulnerable on our streets in the UK.
The sleep out will take place on the 17th August and will be filming it the event and be posting updates throughout the night.
