Story
4 of us from Gymworx are attempting The National 3 Peaks at the end of June in a hope of raising funds for Sturge Weber UK, The Yorkshire Air Ambulance and The Sheffield Childrens Hospital
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, often within 24 hours, usually with a guide and a designated driver. We are attempting it with no guide, doing the driving ourselves and hoping to do it in under 20hours 💪
The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance. The total driving distance is 462 miles.
💥Snowdon
The Pyg track includes a distance of 7 miles, 11km, up and down, and an ascent of 723 metres.
💥Scafell Pike
The Wasdale Head route is six miles long, up and down, and includes 989 metres of ascent.
💥Ben Nevis
The Pony Track, this route is 10.5 miles long, 17km, up and down, and includes 1352 metres of ascent.
National Three Peaks driving
The National Three Peaks Challenge driving route is 462 miles long, and takes around ten hours in total, in good traffic - the first section from Llanberis to Wasdale Head will take around 4.5 hours then the second section from Wasdale Head to Fort William will take around 5.5 hours.
