Crohns and colitis is life long illness and as of yet there is no cure. This illness mostly affects young adults . My wife was diagnosed at the age of 17 which has had a drastic affect on her health. At the time  steroids were the only option for treatment and although they made her feel better they came with an awful lot of side effects, now resulting in 38years later with osteoporosis. Daily life can be difficult as she is in pain most of the time. Although it is not thought to be hereditary we were devastated with the news when our son was also diagnosed recently. Although this predominantly is a bowel illness it affects much more, as having a life long illness can affect your mental health. 

Recently Amy Dowdell from Strictly Come Dancing portrayed exactly what day to day life is like for sufferers and although treatment has come a long way there is as yet no cure for this debilitating disease.

What ever you can donate will go to a fantastic charity and hopefully go towards finding a cure so no one has to live their lives in pain.
