Lands End to John O’Groats · 11 October 2020

We Are Pangs supports parents struggling with perinatal mental illness such as postnatal depression, anxiety, and more. We raise awareness of these issues and campaign for better services. We run peer support groups for parents and train peer support leaders to work with parents in the community.

Story

To celebrate turning 34 and officially entering the first “senior” category for race results, I’ve signed up for a year-long virtual challenge to run the length of Britain (Lands End to John O’Groats), a total of 1,744km.

Along the way, I will be fundraising for We Are PANGS. Those of you who know me will have supported my fundraising for Mind whilst running the Brighton Marathon a few years back and know that mental services mean a lot to me. Since my first marathon, I’ve become a dad twice over and have appreciated how important parental mental health is. The following is from We Are PANGS website:

“Our ultimate goal is to ensure that every parent across Northern Ireland can access timely and appropriate care to help them recover from mental illness.”

Thank you for your support
