Story
I am a freelance writer, speaker and consultant on bioethical issues. You can read (probably too much) about me at www.johnling.co.uk
I have been involved with the LIFE charity since the early 1980s. In 1982, I became the founding chairman of the Aberystwyth LIFE Group and co-founder of Evangelicals for LIFE, a specialist grouping within the organisation. Currently, I am a trustee of LIFE.
I am raising money for LIFE not only because it is the UK’s leading pro-life charity, but also because I share its ethos and its purpose. Providing positive alternatives to abortion, protecting and cherishing all human life, from conception to natural death, are grand endeavours. Unplanned and problem pregnancies can be challenging – finding compassionate and practical responses for mothers and their children have been at the heart of LIFE’s pioneering work for decades. It must continue. To support this great cause, please give, generously!
The Wolf Run is a daunting trial of wild, off-road running (see, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgNBGTziGNM), but I've been training hard and am determined to complete it. And since I am twice the age of most of my other nine LIFE team members, I am unashamedly chasing ‘normal’ as well as ‘sympathy’ donations – twice the age, twice the gift? Thank you!
