I have worked with SIFT since it was founded in 2003 helping to build clinics and install water and sanitation systems on the beautiful but poor volcanic island of Ometepe. Now at the age of 72, I want to take on challenges to raise money for SIFT. I have met many of the staff that SIFT employs and supports ,so I feel a personal bond and motivation to do my best to support them as they help the poorest people in Nicaragua, a very poor country in central America.

I am cycling up the East coast of Scotland from Berwick-on-Tweed  to John O'Groats in 11 days, Starting on 3rd September and finishing on 14th Sept. I will be riding solo with no back up support.This may not be much for "super cyclists" but is quite a challenge for me! I hope this will be a "prequel" to a Lands End to John O'Groats next year using my bus pass through England.
