Story
As a former seafarer myself I know the hardship of life at sea for the men, woman and their family back in the Philippines. Due to covid 19 the travel industry just stopped with not enough support and has left many seafarers out of work with no other way of earning an income, The sea is their life
So, I have set myself a tough challenge to run 100K doing over 50 laps around norman park. #missparkrun
Thank you in advance for your support and donation.
ISWAN is an international charity that supports seafarers and their families around the world. Seafarers are responsible for moving 90% of the world’s trade – without shipping and seafarers half of the world would starve while the other half would freeze. Seafarers in the Philippines are being laid off or unable to join their vessels because of the COVID 19 pandemic. Their families are facing severe financial hardship – many of the seafarers support extended families. ISWAN is providing financial support through our hardship fund. We urgently need to raise more money as thousands of seafarers and their families are becoming desperate and are unable to afford basic necessities. ISWAN is also feeding over 1,000 seafarers who are stranded in dormitories in Manila. We need your help today. For further information see www.seafarerswelfare.org
