Story
As we near two years since the beginning of the pandemic, mental health has never been so important.
Whether isolation, fear or uncertainty over the future, Covid is putting greater strain on everyone's mental health.
And with that comes increased pressure on NHS mental health services, which simply can't cope with the demand. People sometimes have to wait months for support, and when the wait is over, that support is only for a limited time.
Red Balloons is filling that gap in the North East. By offering free one to one and group peer support, people experiencing poor mental health for whatever reason can get some crucial support when they need it, for as long as they need it.
Which is why I'm aiming to raise as much money for them in January and February by walking 500 miles.
Please give if you can. Whether £5, £10 or £20, your donation will make a difference. As a small organisation with low running costs, every donation genuinely matters. It will enable Red Balloons to recruit and train more volunteers in more towns across the North East, so that mental health support is available to those who need it urgently.
Thank you!
