Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page. Now that I’ve lured you here, maybe I can tempt you into pledging a few quid for this fantastic cause as you can really help to make a real difference. Have a read of why I’m doing the marathon again and why you should donate.
One T-shirt Wasn’t enough!
I did my first marathon in 2014, and although I can’t really say that I loved every second (there was a good half hour where every thought was expletive fuelled); it was however an incredible experience and I was completely overwhelmed by the level of support everyone gave around the course. It gives me so much delight to be able to run for the Christie Foundation again, and I will wear their vest with pride because of the fantastic work they continue to do for so many people who are going through such difficult times.
Personally, I would like to dedicate this Marathon to Emma Swinburne who lost her battle with cancer little over a year ago. It was the unbelievable bravery and strength that she showed when battling the disease which is truly inspirational to me; and it is a testament to Emma that these traits will continue to inspire people such as myself to challenge and push ourselves in different ways. I am naturally blessed at running, so if I can use my abilities to help raise support for great causes such as the Christie then this is something I will continue to do.
Why support the Christie
Everyone knows somebody who has been affected by cancer and this battle is not going to be won overnight. The Christie are at the forefront, and are fighting tirelessly on a daily basis to combat the disease; doing all that they can to help those who are suffering as well as offering support to the friends and families. Your donations will go towards helping in a variety of different ways; from funding drug research, paying for medication, staff, therapy and other forms of patient care. Their website (see right side of the page) explains the incredible work they do much better than I possibly can, as well as providing information on other ways in which you might be able to help.
Your Donation Matters
Every donation will be gratefully received regardless of how big or small they are, just give whatever you feel comfortable with. Just click on the 'Donate' button to pledge your contribution (Don't forget to add gift aid if you are a UK Taxpayer).
Cheers!
