Story
I want to raise funds so that The Good Shepherd Centre in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe can complete its borehole project. It's home to 40 orphaned youngsters and over the years we have become good friends with Pastor Eshwin and his team who care for these children in a very loving and orderly way.
The home has struggled with water issues for years and has only had an intermittent and inefficient supply. At times, there has been no water at all on the property and children have had to go outside of the safety of the premises to look for water. In the last few weeks an Australian charity has paid for a new borehole to be drilled, but this still needs more equipment to complete the job, such as an electric pump, solar panels and irrigation pipes. They now have access to a good supply of water, but still have to draw this out manually. A consistent supply of water will change their lives significantly as they will be able to establish a vegetable garden. This will benefit not only the home but also the surrounding community.
You may be aware that Zimbabwe has gone through a prolonged and severely challenging economic period which has affected the viability of Good Shepherd Centre. The Centre receives very limited state support and requires significant financial funds for daily needs.
Please join me in supporting this project - your generosity will make an enormous difference in the daily lives of these people.
