Story
The Harkess Family are proud to be raising funds to support Snow Camp in Joe's memory.
Snow Camp are a life-changing national youth charity who turn young lives around with the power of snowsports.
Since 2003, Snow Camp's dedicated staff team have positively impacted the lives of more than 20,000 underprivileged inner-city young people across the UK.
Throughout the 12 month Snow Camp programme journey (delivered at artificial UK slopes plus a life-changing week in the mountains) young people gain invaluable life-skills, qualifications, vocational opportunities and mental-health support; empowering them up to go onto many other positive destinations in life in the snowsports industry or beyond with their aspirations raised and their horizons truly broadened.
Given Joe’s passion for snowsports and the mountain environment, we couldn’t be more delighted to support Snow Camp’s life-changing work.
To date, thanks to your kind & generous donations, we have successfully raised £8000 (and counting!) which will have a significant impact on Snow Camp’s young people in the 24/25 programme year by funding:
- 240 young people nationally receiving a live mental health & wellbeing talk delivered during the Snow Camp Intermediate Programme (October/November)
- 100 young people nationally gaining a mental health awareness qualification delivered during the Snow Camp Advanced Programme (February/March)
- 10 young people supported become BASI Level 1 Snowsport Instructors – including a BASI Foundation Award (training, preparation, theory) with Live Teaching Days gained in the UK and on Snow Camp’s annual residential trip, plus a full BASI Level 1 qualification (delivery & assessment).

We can’t thank you enough for the support and we look forward to keeping you updated with more activities over the coming year.
