Thank you for visiting this JustGiving page in memory of my mother Joan. She chose Macintyre Care as they provided a lovely home for my sister Susie for over 20 years.

Mum passed away in the early hours of Sunday 4th October at the Leicester Royal following a stroke at home on the night of Tuesday 29th September. She had been happy and well on Monday and Tuesday, talking to friends and family, and having visitors at home on both days.

I was fortunate to spend nearly 4 months with her this year from March-July after my sister Susie sadly passed away in February. Mum was only a few months short of her 88th birthday, so she had a rich and full life. She had lived on her own in Market Harborough for over 40 years and she was fiercely independent and determined to stay at home in Park Drive surrounded by her friends and neighbours.

I'd like to thank everyone that looked out for her in her final years.
