Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 2016 · 31 July 2016 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

So, we need a story here. I think both of us are just hoping that Hurricane Bertha (or her 2016 equivalent) stays well away on 31st
July so that this time we can enjoy the ride. The challenge will be to better our previous times and for Jo to do it quicker than me – sorry Jo, but the statistics do not lie and they don’t have a time allowance for “I waited for Mum to get through the Limehouse Tunnel.”

We’ve both done some crazy things to fund raise and this year we’re raising money for Alzheimer’s Society. They are leading the fight against dementia – for everyone affected by the disease – trying to find an end to the distress it causes.

We’re as well prepared as we can be – at least we haven’t forgotten how to ride a bike since the last time we rode one – we watched the highlights of the Tour de France so that’ll help (not sure which one of us is the domestique for the team) and we’re looking forward to cycling up The Mall once again. High expectations of being chased again by men who do look good in lycra.
