Story

"IF you can meet with Triumph and Disaster. And treat those two imposters just the same"  (Rudyard Kipling)

Bally may as well have written these words herself, because this is exactly what she did. These words are above the players entrance to Centre Court at Wimbledon.

Bally played some of her best tennis at Wimbledon, she was selected for Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics.

I was lucky enough to know Bally, and her Academy is her legacy. She was a kind, funny, warm hearted lady who loved the game of tennis. She was also the inspiration for my running, and I want to help carry her legacy forward.

About the charity

Before her death in May 2014, Elena Baltacha set up her charity with one goal - to give more children, from all backgrounds, the opportunity to learn to play tennis. The Elena Baltacha Foundation is committed to making sure Elena's work continues and that we keep enriching kids' lives through sport.
