Story
During July I have been taking part in the 25 push-ups for 25 days challenge. As well as the push-ups, wherever possible filmed in a different location, I have been adding information on key topics to posts on Facebook in 5-day themes: PTSD, anxiety, depression, suicide awareness and mental health as a whole. The aim is for them to be informative, supportive, practical, realistic, and wherever possible positive to read. The challenge also involves nominating others, however, although people generally want to help, not everyone wants to film 25 push-ups a day and put it on social media... therefore this is another optional way to help.
Wellbeing Scotland is a charity that provides client-centred, holistic, trauma- informed services for people of all ages whose life experiences have impacted negatively on their wellbeing. The charity was originally set up to support people who were abused while in care, and has particular expertise in working with the impact of trauma. During the COVID-19 pandemic it has been actively supporting a range of people who have been affected in different ways, including a 24h hotline for children and young people with mental wellbeing concerns. All services are free and open-ended, in recognition of the fact that every individual's experience is different and unique. Find our more here: https://www.wellbeingscotland.org/
