Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Our wonderful father Jivan "Jim" Shingadia died suddenly but peacefully on 11 April 2020.
We've been inundated with messages of condolence from family, friends and work colleagues. These messages have provided us with comfort, strength, and even smiles, during this very sad time.
We’ve had a number of requests for somewhere that people can make a donation in Jivan's memory. There are so many worthy causes out there right now and all charities are impacted by the current crisis. After a careful think, we have chosen the charity, Chance to Shine, that offers cricket opportunities to disadvantaged children in Britain. Jivan loved all sports, including tennis, table-tennis and squash but, as many of you will know, he LOVED cricket.
The charity, Chance to Shine, aims to use cricket to teach children important key life skills that will help them beyond the playground. As well as enjoying the benefits of physical exercise, through the values of cricket, children are taught about respect, teamwork and fair play. Your contributions will enable the charity to keep running during the COVID-19 crisis and focus on its online resources. To us, choosing this charity also offers hope of a time when children, from all backgrounds, will play cricket together outdoors again.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks,
Ranjana, Nita, Davina, Eisha, Dylan and all the family
