Story
As some of you may already know, I was supposed to be running my first full marathon on Sunday 24th May - The Liverpool Rock n Roll Marathon. However, due to the current COVID-19 situation, the event has been postponed (and rightly so!).
Despite this, and in light of the new unlimited outdoor exercise rules, I've decided to still raise some money for my lovely Mum's favourite charity by running a half marathon instead. I will be running with Ben (his first half marathon!), on the day the marathon should have taken place - Sunday 24th May. We will be creating our own route through Liverpool's parks and along the Mersey promenade.
When mum was first diagnosed last year, our family spent much of our free time planning various fundraising events, and ended up raising enough money for the 'Vanessa Riches Suite' out at the Jeevan Jyoti school in Nepal - which was just amazing. The suite incorporates a medical room, library and conference room where teacher training sessions are held, along with many other workshops and educational sessions. On top of this there is a quiet area outside where up to 70 children can sit and read.
The fundraising kept mum going throughout an incredibly difficult year, and we promised to keep it going after Mum sadly passed in January. So please donate anything you can to ensure Lincs 2 Nepal can continue to do all of their incredible work!
