As some of you know, I ran my first Half Marathon in October last year, and said never again.....! But now, with Reading Half Marathon on my doorstep, the bug has bitten again, and when I heard that GOSH charity had spaces available I couldn't turn it down. 

They do great work caring for poorly children and their families, some of whom I know personally and always say how wonderfully they are looked after.

Here are some extremely moving words from the mum of one of Cameron's school friends, lovely Tia, who asked if anyone would be willing to run to raise funds for the charity which is very close to their heart. I am so pleased to be able to help raise awareness and funds.

Tia was diagnosed with Dilated Cardio Myopathy in April 2009. This is a disease which enlarges the heart. We were told worst case would mean a heart transplant but they would be able to control the illness with drugs. Within 2 months she had rapidly gone down hill She was being fed through a tube was on over 20 medications and had numerous surgeries. Unfortunately her heart had given up and there was nothing else that could be done for Tia. 
Tia was sent in a ambulance to Great Ormond Street, and this is where she stayed for the next year. Great Ormond Street fitted Tia with a Berlin Heart. A machine that saved her life, and kept her alive until a transplant became available. After 5 hard months and lots of ups and downs Tia's gift of life became available. 

This was 3 years ago in April. Tia has a uncertain future but thanks to the kindness of her donor family, and the absolutely brilliant work of the doctors and nurses at GOSH Tia is still with us. 

Jenny is very kindly doing this run in aid of Gosh on behalf of Tia. She is a fantastic runner and person and really needs our support. Thank you so much Jenny.

Lets try and raise as much money as possible for Gosh hearts for kids Charity, a charity that funds vital research, equipment and needs of heart children. Every penny counts so please dig deep and help save lives like Tia's. It also goes without saying that I have to ask please to join the organ donor register and help save lives of precious people that really need that gift.
