Story
As most of my friends know I lost someone very dear to me at the backend of 2019.
A dear friend of mine, Sarah West was diagnosed with breast cancer at the beginning of 2017 and fought long & hard throughout her cancer journey.
A charity very close to Sarah’s heart was The Osbourne Trust which was launched in 2014 by Emma Osbourne after her own cancer diagnosis.
The Trust provides children aged 16 and under whose parent/s have cancer access to recreational activities. Ozzy the elephant is the Trusts mascot and all children referred to the Trust receive a cuddly Ozzy toy, I know Sarah’s 2 little girls Olivia & Amelia found comfort in receiving their Ozzys
Throughout her cancer journey Sarah worked closely with The Osbourne Trust even having a book published with all the proceeds going directly to them. It was Sarah’s wish and legacy that all of her friends continued to raise money for this charity that was very close to her heart.
Due to the CV pandemic small charities such as The Osbourne Trust have found it hard to fundraise in their normal way.
Sarah would have been 38 on the 4th February this year so I have decided to set up this page to try and raise as much money as I can on Sarah’s behalf.
So here is how I plan to do it...... as I’m sure you all know I now live 2 minutes away from the sea although I NEVER go in the sea unless it is the middle of summer and absolutely baking hot!!! So here goes.... if I manage to raise £100 I will go in the sea on the 4th February in my wetsuit, if I manage to raise £200 I will ditch the wetsuit and go in the sea in just my swimsuit! And then any money I manage to raise over £200 I will stay in the sea for 1 minute per £20 so if I get £300 I will stay in for 5 minutes, £400 I will stay in for 10 minutes etc!
