Story
As many of you know, I am off to Sri Lanka in the early part of January 2020 to volunteer for WeCare.
WECare Worldwide is a UK-registered charity set up in 2014 by Newcastle vet, Janey Lowes. The aim is to provide free veterinary care to less fortunate animals around the world- starting with the estimated one to three million street dogs in Sri Lanka.
I was inspired to apply after watching Ben Fogle's Lives in the Wild, and seeing the incredible work Janey Lowes and her team do on a daily basis.
As part of my acceptance for this volunteer program, I am required to organise some fund raising, so I thought it would be fun to involve my friends help for this and do Wacky Wagers.
A Wacky Wager is where friends put forward ideas or tasks for the fundraiser to complete, so for example, a friend suggests I dress like a donkey for a day. However, in order to see me dress as a donkey, a certain amount of money has to be raised first and once this target is achieved then I have to go through with the idea.So if you have an idea, then pop it in the comments section on my Facebook post along with the total you think people should sponsor me to do it. If I get a good response, then I will run a Facebook poll so people can vote for the most popular ideas.
Please note that suggestions have to be legal, safe and clean!
If you don't want to make suggestions then please feel free to donate instead. Every pound raised will help!
Cheers in advance!
