Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The deed has been done!!  See my new pic below.

Thank you to everybody who has supported me and more importantly supporting CHAS and the Little Princess Trust in the important work that they do.  My thanks go to all my friends who came to watch my transformation and to all the members of the Penguin Tuxedo Band  who braved the elements to pound out the ideal backing track.

This page will remain open for donations for a little longer.  Please help if you can....every pound helps the cause.

The following is the story behind my new look.

It is over a year ago since I had my last "Proper" hair cut and, with Spring approaching, figure that it is time for my 21 inch long tresses to go.  I figure that if I'm going to go for a new look I might as well go all out raising funds for a worthwhile cause at the same time.

On Saturday 30th of May at 13.00hrs I will be sitting in the window of Jac's, the hairdresser on Nairn High Street, having all my hair shaved off leaving nothing more on my head than the fuzz you might find on a new tennis ball.

So who am I supporting on this venture?

CHAS, (the Children's Hospice Association of Scotland), is a charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people who have life-shortening conditions for which there is no known cure.  CHAS runs two children's hospices, Rachel House in Kinross and Robin House in Balloch plus a home care service called CHAS at Home

The second beneficiary will be the Little Princess Trust.  The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs to boys and girls across the United Kingdom and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Both of these organisations provide valuable assistance and support to children and their families who find themselves in difficult circumstances, but are not the household names in the way that some of the bigger charities have become.  This is my chance, with your help, not only to raise some much needed funding  but also to help raise the profile of CHAS and the Little Princess Trust.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Please give generously and share my story with your friends.  If you live in Nairn look out for an article in the Nairnshire Telegraph and come to Jac's and watch my transformation from a hairy teenager into a hairy egg.

Thanks once again.

Jennifer
