**News Update**
The Capita Resourcing team completed the 25 mile bike ride on Sunday!!! WELL DONE!!
We now just need to collect all of our sponsorship money in and raise a few more pennies to reach our target. We are almost there so if you still haven’t donated, please do it now!
Why we are doing it?
Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service was set up by Fiona and John Devine, in memory of their courageous son Alexander who was diagnosed with a rare brain tumour at just 4 years of age. For another four years he bravely fought against the cancer but sadly died aged just 8.
The reason we chose this Charity was all down to Sarah Lawrence. Her son George at the age of 4 met Alexander on his first day at infant school and from that day both Fiona, Alex’s mum, and Sarah knew they would be good friends. He was a very bright and funny child, he loved life and endured four and half years of operations, treatments and therapy, with exceptional courage and bravery, with great dignity and without complaint and sadly died at the age of eight.
Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice Service are working to build a children's hospice in Berkshire and we will be helping all families with children with life-limiting conditions, not only those suffering from cancer. This is why Capita Resourcing in Maidenhead have decided to take part in a charity bike ride on Sunday May 29th, over 25 miles in and around Richmond and Windsor where we are hoping to raise £2,500 towards this very worthy cause.
Two trustees of the Alexander Devine Charity today are Sir Michael Parkinson CBE and The Right Honourable Theresa May MP.
