As I work in sport, I was keen to take on a personal challenge in 2012. I was particularly attracted to Gold Challenge because of the chance to raise money for a cause that is very close to my heart. One of my closest friends died of breast cancer eight years ago, just a few days after her 40th birthday, leaving a husband and two young children. Another close friend and an aunt have been successfully treated, and my mother also has breast cancer. Charities like Breakthrough play a key role in funding research into this devastating disease, and supporting those who suffer from it. Please help me to help them by sponsoring my 2012 Gold Challenge. I started late - at the end of 2011 - so I have to cycle/swim/run etc. about 40km a week to travel the full 2012km by the end of this year. Your support will keep me motivated, as well as helping a great charity. Thank you.
