Story
Hi guys. So, those who really know me will know the battles I have had, and continue to have, with weight, food and mental health. I find myself now at my heaviest weight and so, in the countdown to my 40th birthday (amongst other reasons), I have decided to copy a friend of mine's idea and undertake a 12 week sponsored slim to raise money for local charity, Brighter Futures.
Brighter Futures is a small local Charity that is passionate about their clients and their families. They work hard to address social disadvantage and inequality so that every family in Jersey has a voice. By working alongside the main carer, our educational model provides them with the tools to cope. Supporting approximately 150 families at any one time, we focus on 3 key areas; *Parent – child relationships *Second chance learning programmes *Mental health and wellbeing programmes. Together, we are creating brighter futures for families in Jersey.
I'm starting my slim on Monday 3rd October and 12 weeks will take me to the weekend before Christmas. I would be so, so grateful and encouraged by any support you can give me - either by way of donations or just with cheering me on. I've failed countless times before when I've tried to lose weight for myself so I'm hoping that by doing it for these families I will be more successful.
I'm not brave enough to share my starting weight with everyone (far too ashamed) but I will hopefully rope someone in to be my "weighing in" person on a weekly basis so that it's being officially documented.
