Story
Mental health ! We all have it . Sometime well , sometimes not so well ..
Over the last few years ,I have had the privilege of receiving support from the Blide for my own mental health journey. I also had the pleasure of also serving on the board of directors of this wonderful grassroots mental health charity here in Orkney, helping to shape the direction for others like myself who live with mental health issues.
The Orkney Blide trust offers friendship ,support groups ,drop in service & meaningful social activities for its members and supports their family too. More recently , as many of you know , my Dad passed away . I have struggled more than usual with my ongoing mental health issues dealing with all that comes with the loss of a parent . Grief is never a good experience for anyone to go through, and I was absolutely blessed to have been offered and given free counciling sessions with the Blide , for which I can not thank them enough. This wonderful charity really deserves to have some extra support , so I humbly ask you to please donate a penny or two to help them continue their valuable work . If you feel you need some support with any mental health issues , please reach out because places like the Blide are here for you.
Many thanks for all your generous donations ,they will make such a different to so many in our community❤️
Orkney Blide Trust promotes mental well-being in Orkney, through active personalised support with a focus on recovery. We support over 140 people in Orkney with their recovery from mental ill health (we also help visitors and tourists in need of help). We do this by providing complementary therapies, one to one support, numerous activities e.g. Creative Writing, Crafts, Out and About trips etc. People join as members and work together with the staff team to plan and develop what we do so it meets the needs of our people.
