Story

Hi everyone

Team Sully are back again to take on this year's challenge with Acacia. It's just Jayne and Caitlin this year taking on the challenge of climbing Snowdon through the night!

I know it's not quite the showstopper/ dare devil event of falling out of a plane last year - but let me tell you - that was much easier!

Personally this is going to be a huge challenge for me (Jayne) as I'm not the fittest, not getting any younger and have dodgy knees. Then you add in the fact we are doing it in the dark. And on top of all that we are doing it when we should be sleeping!!

Caitlin on the other hand will be driven by getting those photographs of the sunrise from the top. I think those views will help motivate us all!!

So why am I doing it I hear you cry?

Well it's a bit of an emotional journey for me as I'm doing it in memory of my lovely friend and Co-Founder of Acacia - Emma Borg. 4 years ago Acacia took on this challenge on a very hot Saturday at the end of June. I had been thinking of doing it back then, but  my knees weren't great and I decided best not to. A few days before the challenge Emma's husband Kevin asked me if I would be able to go and be with Emma at the hospice on Saturday - the day of the Snowdon trek. So I spent a precious few hours with Emma and was able to share with her  messages and photographs from the trekkers - and it was just so wonderful that they reached the summit whilst I was there with her. It was so meant to be that I was by Emma's side and not up that mountain - God knew best that day.

So, needless to say if you have read this far - it's now time to ask if you  would kindly consider a donation for this amazing charity that I have volunteered and worked for for 15 years. I am privileged to see first hand families lives improved through the help and support that Acacia gives - and this is only possible through funding and donations.

So thank you from myself and Caitlin for reading this. Keep us and the other 30 trekkers in your thoughts and prayers that we make it to the top - and of course get back down in one piece!

Jayne and Caitlin

xx
