Story
We want everyone to have the opportunity to cycle!
We are working with children in primary schools in areas of disadvantage, teaching the children to ride. This is only step one, many children do not have a bike, so our aim is to make sure every child has a suitable bike and helmet to continue this free lifelong activity. We are collecting donated bikes of all sizes to service and give to young people who need them.
To give children the best chance of learning to ride, we use lightweight frog bikes, which make the experience so much better for them. HDSF has a small fleet of frog bikes, but not enough for when going into schools, that’s where the money raised will go. I intend to buy 2 frog bikes with the money raised in January.
For those unable to access 2 wheel cycling, we want to make sure that there is still the opportunity to enjoy cycling. We have a fleet of trikes, handcycles and other adapted bikes to ensure everyone has access to a bike appropriate for them.
