My name is Janet Willicott aka Jani, J, Jay, Janny, Janie, Janimoo, Hils and Mom and more recently known "Willicott". I am a 40+ something mature yet free spirited red headed Leo woman - (make up your own conclusions), Crazy Extreme Sports Freak and Desert Runner, Consultant, Altruistic Cassandra, True to Self, Proud Full Time Mother, Charitable Trustee, Well Read Educated Woman (who can't spell), Full time Bio & Environmental Health Science Student, Lover of the World and Everything it Encompasses who also Abhors Manipulation. I LOVE A CHALLENGE - AS IN THE GREAT WORDS OF NELSON MANDELA "IT ALWAYS SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE UNTIL ITS DONE". There is no such word as CAN'T.
I am a mom to a wonderful young ‘boy man’ called Bastian Atreyu (If you are as old as I am you will remember a movie called the Never Ending Story...the name should ring those bells). Bastian is a very unique child, as like all children, unique in their own way, however Bastian was born with a rare gene and is now one of 6 children in the world; he has agenesis of the brain, which affect his Corpus Callosum, which in turn affects his processing, speech, everyday tasks and a million other normal day to day functioning’s. He can’t read or write, and never will; however it’s taken 8 years to teach him to be able to write his name and more recently his surname, if that is all he can manage I have done my job. Born and raised in Zimbabwe/Rhodesia, educated in South Africa, eldest of 3 sisters, and daughter to the late Barry aka ‘Jersey’ SA’s chemical Paint Specialist. I am a survivor of the most horrific traumas yet ‘liver’ of the most amazing professional career highs. Ex Swimmer, Tennis Freak, Extreme Foodie, BBQ Queen and Humanist & Extreme Sports Freak - Nothing beats running 160 miles through the Sahara Desert in 53 Degrees heat in 96 hours.
What is swimming 22 Miles in a Pool? Well, I will be swimming to recover and re-coup from a shoulder replacement operation. Rock On I say, nothing like pushing self to reach new highs, whilst helping those who cant even walk.
I am dedicating this to my ex-lover and boyfriend Robert who taught me it is not just being paralysed - its what you can achieve whilst being paralysed.
