Story
Endometriosis is a very common condition that very little is known about.
1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth, who are of reproductive age in the UK suffer from endometriosis.
Yet its really hard to get support or a diagnosis. The current gynaecology teams are fantastic but short staffed and probably underfunded. Many people have to wait months or even years to get the condition under control, and some never do.
Why abseiling? Well, it's not just the height and the physical aspect of this that's going to be the challenge. Due to the internal adhesions caused by endometriosis, I suffer abdominal pain everyday. Sometimes it's manageable, other times I can't do anything. So regardless of how I'm feeling on the 8th July 2023, I will be abseiling the 300ft down the Spinnaker Tower.
