We use connectivity & technology to drive social change & improve lives

Story

As part of the Vodafone Group Enterprise HR team, we have committed to cycling, running and swimming 909km, the total distance of the borders of Lesotho, as many times as we can!

I want to contribute by swimming at least 90.9km and once at least 9.09km in one session.

In Lesotho 23% of the population are HIV+ and there are 41 000 children with AIDS. Without treatment 90% of HIV+ children die before their 5th birthday, and a third will not see their first.

Moyo Lesotho is about using mobile technology to change lives, by getting a generation of young people living with HIV onto treatment. By using mobile technology more children will receive life changing treatment far faster.

The funds we raise will also be used to provide safe deliveries for mothers, preventing maternal deaths and the transmission of HIV from mothers to babies. Every pound we raise will be put to work, changing lives and it will reach more people faster because of mobile technology.

Transport: travel funds will be sent via mobile money so children and expectant mothers can travel to treatment - this costs 20 pounds.

Testing: results will be sent via mobile speeding up both diagnosis and treatment - just 50 pounds will pay for a mobile enabled paediatric HIV test

Treatment: mobile clinics will enable nurses to be connected and more young people to be reached.

Every single penny you can donate will make that difference

Thank you
