Story
Jamie arrived 7 weeks early while we were on holiday in Scotland and was put straight into an incubator in ICU. We were stranded there for two weeks, away from all our family and friends, while we waited for him to stabilise and be well enough to travel. He had to be transported in an air ambulance with special medical equipment but the hospitals in Scotland and down South didn't know when they would be able to arrange this - we had no idea how and when we would get back.
Out of the blue Lucy Air Ambulance for Children got in touch and said they had heard about Jamie and wanted to help bring him home. They worked with the hospitals to arrange the transfer and organised a plane and specialist medical team to look after Jamie on board. Two days after they got in contact we were flown back and Jamie was safely transferred to the new hospital.
Thanks to Lucy Air Ambulance for Children we were finally home, and able to concentrate on Jamie's recovery with the support of all our family and friends.
Lucy Air Ambulance for Children is an incredible charity and we want to raise money to support their work and help them take care of more children like Jamie, and bring them home.
