Story
Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! The place where all my friends and acquaintances can view the countdown to my self-inflicted 4 days of pain and suffering.
I'm sure I am likely to regret this decision but along with my work colleague Lee, I have decided to take part in a gruelling 325 mile charity bike ride over 4 days from Bristol to Dublin.
Why? I hear you ask, good question. I have asked myself this same question several times. You may or may not know that I am the Head of eCommerce for GB eye, a fantastic company that produces popular culture brand licensed gifting products. As one of the leading companies in our field, we join other members of the UK licensing industry in regular fundraising activities via the Light Fund, a registered charity founded in 2004 by members of the licensing industry to fund worthwhile projects for children, women and men in the UK (read more about the Light Fund here http://www.lightfund.org/ - and look at the photo below which shows a full list of 2017 beneficiaries).
The Light Fund have organised this event as a genuine challenge even to those who ride regularly, I alongside 100 other riders will be taking part and pushing ourselves way beyond our comfort zone. I am used to doing 40 mile rides in the peak district during the summer months, after which I have an aching back and a sore arse, this will be averaging over 80 miles a day on a pretty lumping looking route so this is certainly no ride in the park.
Thanks for reading and your contribution is very much appreciated, it really means a lot!
