Jay's Doing the Three Peaks Challenge for Meningitis Trust

Jay's Doing the English 3000s - 8 Mountain Peaks in 2 Days · 6 September 2013
Thanks for visiting my Just Giving Page!
I have been offered a place on the Three Peaks Challenge team in support of the Meningitis Trust - a charity which helps improve the lives of child and adult sufferers of the disease and provides vital information on how parents can spot the symptoms of this potential fatal disease early on.
The Three Peaks will take place over the 20th - 22nd September and will be a great and rewarding challenge both for myself and the charity and will involve hiking up all 3 of the highest mountains in Great Britain - Snowdon in Wales (3,560 feet), Scafell Pike in the English Lake District (3,205 feet - overnight) and Ben Nevis in Scotland (4,377 feet). This will be a total of 26 miles of walking completed in 32 hours with a lot of mileage covered and not much sleep in between!
I’ve had some novice experience in hiking mountains before and I can assure you they are a great achievement but are no easy feat - especially for someone like myself who is not the fittest of blokes!
So I am hoping on the support of you kind folks with my efforts on the day, and the rigorous distance and endurance training (which will include the Wiltshire Challenge 300K) ahead of the three peaks challenge by making any small (or large!) donation towards the Meningitis Trust charity so I can reach the a target of £500.
At the same time I'll also be training for the Zombie Evacuation 5k Race in October, so if you aren't that bothered about mountains, I know you must love zombies. That's got to be worth a quid, right?
Please give kindly - and wish me luck (I'll need it!)
- Jay.
