Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
During the early summer of 2014 my sister in laws 10 year old niece Rhianna was suddenly struck down with a rare form of vasculitis which had life threatening implications and an intense month and a half hospital stay. Fortunately she was under the great care of Great Ormond Street, others are not so lucky.
The Lauren Currie Twilight Foundation was founded by the parents of Lauren Currie, who sadly lost their daughter aged 13 to the same rare form of vasculitis, due to a late diagnosis.
These two selfless people who have emersed their grief into helping others and raising awareness. They fund vasculitis research and offer support for vasculitis sufferers and their families by means of legal and emotional help, information on drugs + treatments and even respite holidays.
Rhianna and the family will even be visiting Scotland for a stay in the LCTF twilight cabin this February, which is completely funded by the charity.
This charity works continuously to support children and adults alike suffering from this rare and often devastating disease.
This is an amazing charity, and the story behind its creation truly leaves me in awe.
Ever since coming across the Trans Race a number of years ago I’ve dreamt of completing it and I want to push myself harder than ever before. I’m taking on the hardest endurance race imaginable, it will be an ordeal and a herculean challenge but I’m determined to realise the dream and Raise some money for a great Charity along the way.
Wish me luck!
