Story

Hi there

As you well know by now, I have committed to completing the LEJOG,

The full route is 969 miles broken into 9 daily stages averaging around 108 miles a day

Why you may ask?

That is still yet to be answered with a sane or reasonable response yet; however, I am committed to completing it now so there are no excuses as it is for a really good cause !

When?

Starting at Lands’ End on September 9th, finishing in John O'Groats sometime on September 17th

How am I going to do it?

With lots of Lucozade and sudocream.... this is
the daunting part...going from a 'beer swilling 5 mile bike ride man' to a 100 mile a day machine.... I will be out on my bike as much as
possible and will also be entering Sportifs across Berkshire, Wiltshire,
Hampshire etc.
along with Members of the newly formed SPPCC  (Seend Pork Pie Cycling Club) https://www.facebook.com/seendppcc/?fref=ts

The Route

Sounds simple... ride from one end of Britain to the other end!!!!!! BUT>>>>>> I will cross 3 countries, over
20 counties, and climb around 15,000m. That is around 13 times up Alpe d’Huez or almost TWICE THE HEIGHT OF EVEREST! This sounds like a lot, but with the right training it is well within reach. (Apparently)

So a bit more on why is am doing this (or the part where I try to convince myself)

With one in every 113 people in the world currently forcibly displaced
from their homes due to conflict or natural disaster, we are experiencing the largest refugee crisis since the second world war. The Vodafone Foundation wants to continue to show its support for families and individuals in need.

This year the Vodafone Foundation aims to raise £1million to support
refugees by building on 4 years of Vodafone support for refugees with
the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees (UNHCR) across Africa and Europe and 13 year with French charity Telecoms Sans Frontiers.

All funds
raised will go to UNHCR & Europe’s largest distributor of aid, Help
Refugees

So you have heard why and how I plan to complete
this.... now I need your help to get me there

Please donate any amount you can as this is a life altering mission for
me and the money raised will be priceless

Don't worry....  I will make sure is earn some of your donations by other
methods as well via events such as

Quiz Nights

Race Nights

Leg Wax(Cheers!)

Keep an eye on this page for further updates

That’s it from me for now.... gotta get out on my bike!
