Lourdes (France) to Fulda (Germany) for Alderhey - 950 mls., 19 July 2014
We raise funds for equipment and services to ensure Alder Hey remains world class.

Story

The goal of this sponsored cycle is to raise funds for Alder Hey Children's Hospital here in Liverpool that is currently being rebuilt and that is desperately in need of funds for new equipment http://www.alderheycharity.com/

I am setting off from Lourdes on July 19th, riding to Fulda, Germany and the Shrine of St. Boniface. I will be riding for 9 days and covering approx. 950 mls as I cross France diagonally from the south-west to the north-east and head on into Germany through the Black Forest region.

I grew up in the parish of St. Boniface in Southampton and lived within a mile of the site of the ancient Benedictine monastery (at Nursling, nr. Southampton)
where Boniface (Winfrid) began his monastic life before leaving for modern day Holland and Germany.

This will be my 11th mutliday cycle for charity since 1992. In both 1994 and 2004 I cycle from Liverpool to Lourdes. The above photo shows me arriving in Lourdes in 2004.

Any donation would very much be appreciated.

God bless.
