I’ve been persuaded to wheel my creaking frame the 400+ miles from Bristol to Bordeaux, with the assistance of a ferry at Portsmouth, over 4 days from 2-5 July along with 60 others. Not quite my usual idea of popping to France for a few days, but far more worthwhile never-the-less.

We are raising money for PROPS, a nationally recognised charity based in Bristol which carries out inspiring work for young people with special needs. Money raised goes towards essential items such as the upkeep of minibuses which carry wheelchair users and children dependent on oxygen.

PROPS http://www.propsforward.org provides opportunities and support for those with special needs and is a unique and inclusive organization. Working with a number of community partners they promote integration and partnerships throughout the community. Their initiatives range from the promotion of business enterprise to social and educational interaction within a variety of contexts including sports, leisure and the performing arts.

PROPS students play an active role in fundraising events. Many will be helping with the bike ride event by producing posters, leaflets and t-shirts and a number of students will be joining the ride to Bordeaux.
