The reason I am supporting The Rain Forest Foundation is because they do more than just aquire and 'protect' the rain forests of the world. They help the indigenous people get essential paperwork like birth certificates; otherwise they don't offcially exist. Who better to campign for the protection of the rain forests than the people who have lived there for generations.  I have never before asked for charitable donations, so this is my first (and last) effort to raise a substantial amount.
