Shropshire hills 50 mile trek · 26 September 2012
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In November i hope to complete an approximate 60 mile trek across the Shropshire hills. This will include the Wrekin, Stiperstones, Long Mynd at Church Stretton, Caer Caradoc & the Brown Clee hill.
Just want to explain the two reasons why I'm doing this;
Most importantly is to raise some money for BCH who treat sick children. I havn't had any direct involvement with them but it is a cause which feels personal to me for the reason that I dont like to think that children have to go through terrrible illnesses that deprive them of a normal childhood.
I'd like to give them (the children), a better chance at a normal life, and as i have a healthy body I thought It's only right that I should put it through sustained & immense pain to acheive that!
Secondly is to raise the profile of the Shropshire hills area....A designated area of outstanding natural beauty...its true!!
I have been lucky enough to see some of the most awesome landscapes in the world, places like the Himalyas seeing Mt.Everest, the Grand canyon & the pacific coast in northen California.......but its become more apparent to me recently that we have great places right on our doorstep & they should definetly not be over-looked by far away more exotic destinations.
Thanks for taking interest in my cause & greatly appreciate every penny!
