London Marathon 2023 · 23 April 2023 ·

We support adults with learning disability to ensure they are valued, treated equally

Story

Hello everyone!

I am running the London Marathon on the 23rd April 2023 for Braintree Mencap, a local charity who are reliant on funding and grants to function.

Braintree Mencap has a close place in my heart and I’m delighted to be able to run for them and all of their amazing members. It’s one of the first places I started out on my journey when working with those who have learning disabilities and or autism and feels great to be able to give something back.

I have always loved the idea of the marathon and after watching my close friend Sid run in it October, I couldn’t help but apply and as luck would have it, I got in through the ballot. Running trainers purchased and Sunday morning runs in full flow and I’m now looking forward to get to the starting line.

I am hoping to raise £2,000 which will be put to good use and I will be incredibly grateful to anyone who is able to donate, whatever the size.

My training begun in January and I will be juggling it alongside football, I will post milestones when I can and I thank anyone who is able to support.

Many thanks,

Jake
