We provide crucial information and support to patients living with Black Bone Disease

Story

New Year is the time for all sorts of crazy resolutions, and so on the 28th Feb 2016 I'll be running the Cambridge 1/2 marathon after what has been a very indulgent Christmas season.

I'm going to be supporting the AKU society and the fantastic work they do investigating a poorly understand genetic disease (more on that below). This year, rather than make a New Year's Resolution that you're probably going to break, why don't you support me in this run and you can get vicariously fit in 2016.

I am completely open to any sort of challenge so sponsor me to run a certain time (please remember I'm no Mo Farah), run it in fancy dress, team up with 13 others and sponsor £1 a mile each. Every little makes difference.

Why am I (and you!) supporting the AKU society? They support sufferers of alkaptonuria (AKU ) which currently has no cure, and they fund primary research into the disease. Your donation will go directly to helping those who need it most and those hunting for a cure.

And what is AKU you ask?  It's a genetic disease that leads to severe, early onset osteoarthritis (your lose motion in your joints), and currently has no known cure.  For more information I'd highly recommend the AKU Society website ( http://www.akusociety.org )

Thanks for taking the time out to read this and for supporting the AKU Society with your donation.

Happy New Years!!
