Story
Coram’s Fields has served the community for over 80 years. Pupils at the school know it well as they occupy its football pitches 17 hours a week on average, excluding the countless hours spent there after school and over the weekends by diehard football players or zipline aficionados alike.
During the pandemic, the charity has managed to keep the park, playground and services open, providing an essential service to the local and diverse community. But it faces huge shortfalls from running its seven-acre site without being able to raise essential funds due to national restrictions. Every day it misses out on about £1,500 in income from not being able to hire out its football pitches and halls, its biggest source of income. Staff have cut costs, utilised the Government’s furlough scheme, and raised emergency funds, but continue to face
devasting losses.
