In May last year our dearest friend, husband to Lucy, father to Jodie and Laura and grandfather to Freddie and Koa sadly left us after being diagnosed with Cancer. This memorial ride, on his Birthday and in his name, is to not only celebrate his life with an activity he would have loved, but also to raise much needed funds for Sussex Search and Rescue who both John and Lucy have been involved with and raised money for since 2016. For those who knew John he adored the outdoor life – Cycling, walking, camping and obviously the social element that come with this and spending time with likeminded friends. This, remembering John and raising some money for SusSAR is what this event is all about. Sussex Search and Rescue is the primary search resource for Sussex Police. One of many Lowland Search and Rescue units across the country, SusSAR consists of a professionally trained and qualified team of volunteers who, between them, make themselves available for call out 24 hours a day and 365 days per year. The SusSAR team have also recently been presented with the Queens Award for voluntary services relating to the search and rescue of vulnerable missing people. The day will consist of several bike rides catering for all abilities for you to raise hopefully a minimum of £150 each for SusSAR. Following this will be the chance to camp, eat, drink (around the campfire) with friends and SusSAR members along with the chance to remember John in the way we know he would have loved us to.
