Lambeth and Croydon Foodbank exists to ensure no-one in Lambeth and Croydon goes hungry, while working towards a community where no-one needs to access a food bank. Last year we provided over 27,000 people with emergency food parcels

Story

We exist to ensure that no one in Waterloo goes hungry. For people on low incomes, a sudden crisis redundancy, benefit delay, illness or even an unexpected bill can mean going hungry. Every day parents skip meals to feed their children and people are forced to choose between paying the rent or eating. We are part of The Trussell Trust, the UK-wide foodbank network. We work with local frontline care professionals, such as schools, charities, housing associations, GPs, health visitors and churches, to identify those in need. During the COVID-19 pandemic, referrals to our foodbank are up 135% and we are providing food to hundreds of families each week. We are currently offering a delivery service to every person who is referred in to our foodbank. This new way of operating comes at additional cost to us, so we are very thankful for any donations, to ensure non-one in Waterloo goes hungry.
