Story

Hello everyone,

Thanks for visiting my page. In September 2015 I will be cycling from London to Paris (just under 500km) across the space of 4 days. As anybody who knows me will testify, I can be very lazy and particularly dislike individual sports as I have no one to talk to!

My brother Robbie was tragically killed on his way to work in June 2014 which is the reason I am completing this challenge. Robbie would move mountains in order to help me; hopefully this comparitavely short ride will be able to provide help to others. In March I will be undergoing ankle ligament reconstruction sugery which provides me with only a short time to prepare, but just one of the things Robbie showed me was to neve complain or let anything stop you.

I will be raising money for two charities; this page is set up for Barrett's Oesophagus Campaign. (http://www.barrettscampaign.org.uk/). Robbie suffered from this rare condition (particularly for someone so young), which is a precursor for oesophageal cancer, a horrific form of the disease. Robbie never complained about this condition and as a result, for every time I complain about my legs hurting on the ride, I will donate an extra £1 (which will definitely add up quickly with me!)

The other charity I am raising money for is Cruse and the link to that page can be found here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/J-Schofield1/

Please give generously to these two wonderful causes, all in the name of a truly inspirational son, brother, grandson, friend, teacher etc.!
