Story
Irene Daisy Campbell
8/3/1948 - 9/3/2023
As anyone who knew Irene would not have failed to notice, she loved flowers. However, she also hated the idea of flowers going to waste. So instead of sending flowers for her funeral, please do consider donating to St John's Hospice.
St John's Hospice was where Irene spent the last week of her life and it is impossible to overstate the importance of the role the hospice played during that time, providing a comfortable, private place to fulfil her wishes of "dying with dignity". The doctors and nurses were abundantly helpful and friendly, and the menu so extensive that Irene was able to bow out in style with salt beef and latkes, and smoked mackerel with pomegranate sauce as her final two dinners!
St John's Hospice is an independent charity, located within the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, which provides palliative care to more than 4,500 terminally-ill patients and their families each year. All care is totally free so we would love to be able to give something back to say thank you for the role they played in Irene's final days.
