We Build inspiration through education to Improve schools access in rural Malawi

Story

Inspire Malawi is a small, grass-roots education charity supporting schools in rural Dedza and Ntcheu District in central Malawi.

This April, we are renovating three classrooms at Mlanda Primary, creating bright, safe and inspiring learning environments and lifting learning from the floor through the provision of new desks. Last year, with the support of volunteer teachers from Newton Prep School, we were able to renovate classrooms at Theke Primary School and provide free Library CPD for the teachers there.

We are now fundraising to support our volunteer team of 6 teachers from Newton Prep:

Any funds raised through this JustGiving page will be used towards the food and accommodation costs of the NP volunteers, with any remaining funds used to contribute towards the cost of paint and resources needed for the project. As the charity works in such a rural part of Malawi, and it's important to keep our volunteers safe, accommodation options are very limited. The best place for location and amenities is Dedza Pottery and Lodge. Volunteering is such a valuable and enriching experience for the staff at NP, in terms of their own practice but also through sharing their first hand experiences with the children at NP upon their return- who can feel a part of this project.

Additional sponsorship/funds raised would be used in country to purchase books, desks and resources- pumping money directly into the communities we seek to support.
